Much of this material is based upon the author’s decades of experience in industry including over ten years as the leader of product-safety engineering at a major designer, manufacturer, and worldwide distributor of innovative and hazardous products.  This experience has been transferred into an engineering course at a major university.  The course is offered to Senior undergraduate students and graduate students from several fields of engineering.  (Please see d’Entremont & Merryweather, ASEE 2018, under the Publications tab on the homepage for additional information.)
